A Space for Everyone

We were the first church in the state of New Jersey (in 1940) to host an AA meeting and are proud to have been blessing and marrying LGBTQ+ couples since 1991. But it doesn’t stop there! We have weekly Sunday worship, various activities and groups to join, and year-round community events.

Book Group – Our next meeting is this Monday>>4/29 at 7 pm.

The book for discussion is WAVEWALKER by Suzanne Heywood

Our book for May 29 is Everything I Learned I Learned in a Chinese Restaurant: A Memoir
by Curtis Chin.

June – The Color of Water: A Black Man’s Tribute to His White Mother (Anniversary) by James McBride

Please contact Veronica for the link. Reading the book is not essential to joining our discussion, so if you are inclined, please drop in whether you have read it or not.

It’s spring and almost time for planting!!! Our tomato seedlings just sprouted under grow lights.

You are invited to join us for one or two Saturday morning garden work sessions here at church in our backyard on May 4th and/or May 18. Please meet us around 8 AM and dress to be outside and get dirty, and please bring a filled water bottle. We will have good snacks and get to know each other too, as we begin our 3rd season of growing vegetables for the Table of Hope in our Food Security Ministry. If you would like to be involved, see Peg or Allyson or email them at pegonplanetearth(at)gmail.com & allyson.salisbury(at)gmail.com.

Welcome!

Rev. Cynthia Black
The Rev. Cynthia Black, D.D., Rector

Welcome to Redeemer! We are not just a building in the community– we are building community! We gather online and in person for worship, in person to participate in activities like our Garden of Hope food security ministry or helping clean up the Whippany River, and online for lively book discussions and forward-looking racial and ethnic reconciliation work. I would love to welcome you at any of these things, and hear what you are looking for.

Yours in faith,
Cynthia Black
