Namaste Projects

The legacy of the past created and maintained a gathering place for worship and inspirational music that is known to the community as the Church of the Redeemer. As we all have come to realize, Redeemer is much more than our beautiful stone buildings accented by magnificent stained glass windows and crowned with an original slate roof. But yet the structures must be maintained to assure that the gathering place can provide for the vision that is uniquely Redeemer.

The funds raised in the Namaste Capital Campaign plus the funds we have been awarded through grants have enabled us to accomplish the following projects:

  • Repave the driveway between the Church and Parish House
  • Conduct a Preservation needs assessment for both the Church and Parish House
  • Refinish the front door of the Parish House
  • Replace the walkways to the Church and Parish House
  • Replace the walkway, steps, railings and landing to the side door entrance to the Parish House
  • Repair the leaks to the roof of the Church preventing further water damage
  • Build a wheelchair accessible bathroom on the main level of the Church and redesign the sacristy
  • Expand the electrical capacity in the basement of the Parish House

This Spring we expect to complete the following projects:

  • Replace the roof over the narthex of the Church (identified as our highest priority project by our needs assessment)
  • Replace the windows in the Parish Hall with energy efficient windows
  • Use the architectural/engineering studies of the Parish House as a guide for us to prioritize other structural issues needing work on that building
